I have been a spiritual seeker for as long I can remember. My journey has led me through pastoring a church & campus ministry, hospital chaplaincy & department leadership, spiritual direction & supervision, spiritual & Enneagram teaching, and a whole bunch of reading. I love the spiritual quest, and especially when it involves journey with individuals and groups. I currently devote all of my professional time to my Sojourners Institute, where I lead the Living the Sacred Life Online Community, a Spiritual Direction Apprentice Training Program, and various workshops and groups.

I live in Minneapolis with my wife, Melanie (who does similar work: hospice bereavement counselor and chaplain, spiritual direction, and yoga teaching). We have a wonderful daughter, Ana, who is a social worker, and are really enamored with Fergus the wonder dog. I’m so fortunate and I love my life!

We created Sojourners Institute because we believe that coming home to our true spiritual nature is personal work that changes everything in our lives.

We offer educational classes and programs, along with individual sessions, which aim at guiding people to a fuller and freer life.

And we extend these offerings with the belief that each step that expands our spiritual lives weaves healing and love into the fabric of our broken world.
